“Clothes aren’t going to the change the world, the women who wear them will”, said Anne Klein.
This statement holds true not just for women but for all of us because it is what we do really impacts the situation. The way you dress up and present yourself is equally important too. I simply believe in dressing well for an occasion, event or for a meeting.
There are a certain must haves that need to be in a woman’s wardrobe, details of which has been covered in one of my blogs wardrobe options
The weather in Mumbai really has a mind of its own and it’s not usually in great spirits either. I would love to don leather pants or long overcoats depending on the weather but the climate usually doesn’t permit you to do so. In scenarios like these, off late, my favorite piece of clothing has become palazzo pants.
Palazzo are comfortable and are like little rays of sunshine on a cold airy day, they look amazing and make you feel amazing too.I often pair up palazzo with almost everything and they can help you switch from a western outfit to an Indian one by just a change of few accessories and voila you are ready to slay girl!
You need to pick a few in solid colors and a few in print and you go mix and match just like adding in all sorts of vegetables and turning it into a yummy dish called Pav Bhaji.
In this picture I have paired a simple black palazzo with a shimmery top and a denim jacket, perfect for an informal meeting or an evening out with your friends. You can even ditch the jacket and put on a nice tank top or a crop top for a really fun night. You may want to swap the flats with heels and then just wait for the compliments to flow in!
In both of the above pictures, i have just swapped the jacket with a scarf and changed my shoes to attend two formal meetings on two different days. Always try and match your jackets to your shoes or your belts and shoes. I picked up the tip of trying and matching my handbag and my shoes from people in Taiwan who are always so smartly dressed.
And now comes the part where you can team up your palazzo with a trendy ethnic attire. If you want it to be extremely tradition, add a stole or a duppatta to your attire for the very desi look.
I prefer the solid colors over the printed ones because its always easier to team the solid colors with T shirts, shirts, Kurtis and jackets. The picture below is of what I wore to a birthday party. I like the fact that they can be worn to any location or occasion. I even wore palazzo over my body warmer on my recent holiday.
The footwear with palazzo too can be alternated from flats to heels, from chappals to sneakers and believe me you won’t be disappointed with how the entire look turns out to be.
Do try any of these looks and let me know how it turns out to be.You can even follow me on Instagram and read all about parenting, food, wellness and some hacks too.
